When I was at Kent State U the president went around the world to have meetings with other schools, stayed at 5 star hotels (president's suite), and first class seats on all of his plane rides. When the students asked him about it he replied, "Its for buisiness to create ties for the school and he paid out of pocket for his wife to tag along (paraphrase)".
